As the crisis in Palestine/Israel deepens, Nisa Nashim organised an event exploring the impact on Jews and Muslims in the UK through increased antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents. We heard from two experts, Amanda Bomsztyk, Northern Regional Director of CST and Akeela Ahmed MBE, founder of She Speaks We Hear and equalities activist, who gave us the facts, focussing particularly on how this is affecting women.
By coming together and understanding the similarities and differences in the two forms of racism, the aim of the event was to allow us to share our pain, act as allies and work towards a safer, less racist world.
We focused on women and families and allow some time to consider allyship in this time of conflict
