Women from Nisa-Nashim helped Karen Maxwell celebrate her bat mitzvah 50 years late! Bat mitzvahs were not the norm when Karen was a child and she chose to embrace her adult Jewish self by chanting from the torah, reading prayers and giving a ‘dvar torah’ (a reflection) on Shabbat. Uplifting and full of friends.
