On 16 April, Nisa-Nashim Edgware, Golders Green, Essence and North Finchley groups got together to pack all the incredible gifts donated as part of the Eid Gifts for Asylum Seekers project jointly hosted by Nisa-Nashim, New Citizens Gateway and Religions for Peace.
After 2 weeks and literally hundreds of deliveries, these Nisa-Nashim women and some of their children spent a Sunday morning packing up Eid gifts for 300 children of asylum seekers based in 3 north London hotels!
Fasting and thinking of those less fortunate was an extra special Sadaqah that the Muslim ladies could share with their Jewish sisters who were performing their own tzedaqah.
Dates around Eid are being planned for gifting the thoughtfully selected presents and all of us are excited to see the children’s faces .
